About Charlie Metcalf

Charlie Metcalf taught 30 years and coached 40 years. He was part of team that won over 300 games including the State Championship. He was the offensive coordinator for both the NC East/West All Star game and the NC-SC Shrine Bowl game. He has coached eight players that made it to the NFL. Metcalf was inducted into the Erwin High Hall of Fame in 2018.

After coaching for decades, Charlie Metcalf began to appear on the Wise Guys as a contributor on high school football in 2017. This led to Charlie co-hosting The Wise Guys. Coach Metcalf then did color analysis on the Asheville Cougar games on Wise Sports Radio.

By 2020, Charlie was co-hosting 100 Wise Guys shows a year with Pat Ryan. The two also hosted the popular Saturday morning, PigSkin Brunch Coaches Show.
