Weaverville sets public facility reopening date after winter storm

WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Following public facility closures caused by Winter Storm Fern, Weaverville officials have announced that Weaverville Town Hall and other public buildings will reopen at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 27.

This announcement follows the cancellation of the regular Weaverville Town Council meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 26, which was removed from the schedule under the Buncombe County State of Emergency Warning prompted by the storm.

In its place, Weaverville Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2 inside Council Chambers at Weaverville Town Hall, 30 S. Main St., Weaverville.

“Thank you for remaining safe during the weather event and we appreciate your patience,” wrote Weaverville Town Clerk Tamara Mercer in a press release.
