ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Heavy smoke blanketed the area along Riverside Drive on Friday morning, prompting concern from residents and commuters.

The smoke appeared to be coming from the Riverside Stump Dump. As of Friday morning, it was not immediately clear whether an active fire was burning at the site.
