ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A wintry mix Monday left roads slick across the Asheville area Tuesday, prompting many local schools to close or delay their opening.

Those include:

Avery County Schools: Remote learning day
Jackson County Schools — Blue Ridge District: Two-hour delay
Madison County Schools: Closed/optional teacher work day
Mayland Community College: Remote learning day
McDowell County Schools: Two-hour delay
McDowell Technical Community College: Two-hour delay
Rutherford County Schools: Two-hour delay
Transylvania County Schools: Two-hour delay
Yancey County Schools: Remote learning day
