September concert calendar: Live music in Asheville and WNC this month

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — September’s concert calendar gives Asheville and Western North Carolina plenty of ways to gather around live music, from neighborhood stages and Black Mountain venues to downtown Asheville concert halls and outdoor shows.

The month includes touring acts, local performers and emerging artists across rock, Americana, folk, blues, reggae, metal, hip-hop and indie music.

Here’s a look at concerts and live music events planned in Asheville and WNC this month.

LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem performs Thursday, Sept. 17, at Hellbender by The Orange Peel, with Victoryland also on the bill. The outdoor Asheville show is one of the month’s largest concerts.

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals perform Thursday, Sept. 17, at The Orange Peel, adding another major national touring act to Asheville’s September lineup.

Little Feat

Little Feat brings The Last Farewell Tour to Thomas Wolfe Auditorium at Harrah’s Cherokee Center on Friday, Sept. 11.

Gov’t Mule and Ziggy Marley

Gov’t Mule and Ziggy Marley bring the Dreaming The Same Dream Tour to Hellbender by The Orange Peel on Friday, Sept. 25, with a DJ set by YOLA.

The War On Drugs

The War On Drugs performs Monday, Sept. 21, at Asheville Yards. The outdoor show is scheduled at the downtown venue on Coxe Avenue.

Acid Bath

Acid Bath performs Saturday, Sept. 5, at Hellbender by The Orange Peel, with Neurosis, Melvins and Kylesa also on the bill.

Rising Appalachia

Rising Appalachia performs two Hurricane Helene anniversary shows at Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain. The shows are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.

Black Mountain Blues Experience

Black Mountain Blues Experience runs Sept. 25-27 at White Horse Black Mountain. The three-day event includes blues, soul and roots artists, with separate lineups scheduled each day.
