BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) – After a section of White Horse Black Mountain collapsed during renovation on the building last week, the music venue has already announced a special series of concerts and events in partnership with The Monte Vista Hotel.

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 29, the hotel, located at 308 W. State St. in Black Mountain, will host White Horse events like Super Bowl bingo, a jazzy Valentine weekend and live musical performances.

“The support of The Monte Vista allows us to keep the musical community together even as we navigate unexpected challenges at the White Horse,” the venue wrote in a press release. “Community partnerships like this are what keep the arts and local culture thriving.”

Representatives from White Horse shared immense gratitude for the response the nonprofit received from the community following the construction incident.

“This moment has reminded us why White Horse exists in the first place,” said Bob Hinkle, founder of White Horse, in the release. “It’s about meaning, about gathering, about creating space for art and connection. What we do is bigger than one building. And right now, we truly need our community beside us—showing up, buying tickets, bringing friends and becoming White Horse members. Every bit of support matters.”

Caution tape and fencing erected outside of White Horse Black Mountain after the collapse.

“The power of this community has been incredible,” said Zach Hinkle, White Horse Director of Operations. “People have reached out nonstop asking how they can help and support us. To see that level of care and belief in what White Horse stands for has been amazing. It’s reminded us that we’re not doing this alone.”

White Horse/Monte Vista programming includes:

  • 7:30pm, Thursday, Jan. 29 – Lenny Pettinelli and Friends
  • 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1 – CHLO! and The Cardinals
  • 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6 – Feng E, International Ukulele Sensation
  • 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7 – David Childers and Dylan Walshe
  • 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8 – Super Bowl Bingo Benefit

“Showing up is powerful,” said Bob Hinkle in the release. “It’s how the good works of White Horse survives. It’s how the music keeps playing for all of us.”
