NCSHP, BCSO respond in New Leicester Highway incident

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A law enforcement incident brought North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency responders to New Leicester Highway near Gilbert Road Tuesday morning.

A State Highway Patrol vehicle and another vehicle were in a ditch at the scene. Fire and ambulance crews also responded.

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it assisted at the scene but said the incident is being handled by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
