MILLS RIVER, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Veterans Healing Farm has been selected for the inaugural Innovation Lab Cohort through the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Got Your Six Network.

The Mills River organization is among a group of organizations taking part in the program, which is designed to help groups serving veterans strengthen their programs and better assess the results of their work.

As part of the cohort, Veterans Healing Farm Executive Director Al Yeck will participate in four online sessions and an in-person summit in San Francisco.

The Innovation Lab will give the organization an opportunity to take a closer look at its programs and operations while developing ways to assess and communicate the outcomes of its work.

Veterans Healing Farm provides opportunities for veterans to connect through hands-on agriculture, educational workshops and community events. The organization also brings veterans and community members together for workshops and other activities.

Yeck said the program will give the farm a chance to learn from other organizations serving veterans while taking a closer look at its own work.

“We are honored to be selected for the inaugural Innovation Lab Cohort through the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Got Your Six Network,” Yeck said in a news release. “This is an incredible opportunity to learn alongside other organizations serving veterans, strengthen what we do at Veterans Healing Farm, and build stronger ways to demonstrate the impact of agriculture, workshops, and community events in the lives of those who have served.”

The Innovation Lab cohort will be featured at the Bob Woodruff Foundation Summit on Sept. 24 in San Francisco. The summit will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet participating organizations and learn more about their work.

The program is expected to help Veterans Healing Farm continue developing its programs and ways to measure their outcomes.
