ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Nearly a year after Hurricane Helene swept through the River Arts District, the district will officially welcome back Marquee Asheville, the first Foundy Street business to return to the RAD since the storm.

Marquee is a central marketplace for hundreds of Western North Carolina artists, crafters, thrifters and antique merchants. The eccentric warehouse space features stalls upon stalls of the creative and unexpected. Its return is a massive boost to the recovery of the arts scene in Asheville.

The official grand reopening of Marquee, an event dubbed “Marquee Take II,” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday Sept. 25 on Foundy Street in the RAD.

According to a press release, the event will begin with a reflective ceremony, “honoring Asheville’s community, volunteers, and the many hands that made this reopening possible.”

Music will be provided by DJ Nex Millen. There will also be live performance art, light bites and cocktails to enjoy.
