MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Brandon Lee Henry, 38, was arrested on domestic assault charges and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center, where he was discovered to be in possession of marijuana.

Henry was arrested and charged by McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Seth Leopold with misdemeanor simple assault and misdemeanor injury to personal property after the deputy responded to a call about a domestic disturbance in Marion.

When Leopold arrived at the scene, Henry had already left the residence. Shortly afterward, Henry was located at a different residence on Sugar Hill Road and was arrested on outstanding warrants.

“He was charged with misdemeanors for the reported domestic violence incident,” the MCSO said.

When Henry arrived at the MCDC, he was found to be in possession of marijuana and was issued a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. He was given a secured bond of $25,000.
