ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — MANNA FoodBank will host a free holiday food distribution to support families across Western North Carolina ahead of the holiday season. The event is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the WNC Ag Center, Gate 7, 761 Boylston Highway, Fletcher.

MANNA, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, will provide boxes of groceries containing fresh produce, meat, eggs and dry goods — enough to help families prepare a full holiday meal.

The event is limited to the first 1,000 people who RSVP at MannaFoodBank.org/HolidayFood. Organizers encourage participants to select a time slot when signing up to help manage traffic and volunteer support. Attendees should not arrive before 11:30 a.m.

Each vehicle can pick up boxes for up to two families. Walk-ups are welcome, and a nearby bus stop is available for those without transportation. Organizers caution that wait times may be long and encourage participants to come prepared.

This distribution is one of several holiday food events happening across Western North Carolina. Families unable to attend can use MANNA’s Food Finder tool to locate nearby partner food pantries and distribution sites at mannafoodbank.org/where-to-get-help/.et-help/.
