Man shot and killed in Hendersonville; SBI assisting investigation

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 29-year-old man dead Friday night in Hendersonville.

According to the Hendersonville Police Department, officers responded around 8:01 p.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in front of a residence at 724 Woodcock Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a man later identified as Justin Alan Davis, 29, of Hendersonville, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Investigators said the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case as detectives work to identify a suspect and determine a motive.

Police said preliminary evidence indicates the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
