ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — All lanes of Interstate 26 East are closed past Exit 33 at Brevard Road in Buncombe County because of a crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The closure was reported at about 8:46 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. NCDOT updated the alert at 8:45 a.m.

Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
