ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — All lanes of Interstate 240 East are closed past Exit 2 in Buncombe County because of a crash, according to a traffic alert updated at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday.

Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The cause of the crash and whether anyone was injured were not immediately available.
