CANTON, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The town of Canton is preparing for the 117th Labor Day Festival, a two-day celebration set for Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in downtown’s Sorrells Street Park.
This year’s lineup includes national recording artist Craig Morgan, who will headline Sunday night’s music schedule. Other performers include Dirty Grass Soul, Commodore Fox, Tricia Ann Band, Outlaw Whiskey, Nick & Brew, The Brothers Gillespie, Steve Jordan and Xander Wells, along with a performance from Balsam Range on Monday evening.
Festival organizers also announced family-friendly attractions, including a Kid Zone with inflatables provided by Smoky Mountain Event Rentals and access to the town’s splash pad. A classic car show, hosted by Primered Black Inc., will be held Monday from noon to 4 p.m. with free admission.
The weekend will also feature the traditional Canton Labor Day Parade on Monday morning, with community groups and organizations marching in support of workers and labor rights.
Two-day passes can be purchased online here or in person at Canton Town Hall, while single-day tickets will be available at the gate.
Festival organizers recommend that attendees bring chairs for the music performances, as standing will not be permitted in the concert area.
