Buncombe250 committee launches community listening sessions

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County officials are inviting residents to share ideas for local projects, events and programs leading up to the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026.

The America250 NC Buncombe County Committee, known as Buncombe250, is hosting a series of community listening sessions to gather input from residents, organizations and community leaders. The sessions aim to help shape how Buncombe County marks the milestone and contributes to the statewide celebration.

The first session is scheduled for noon Tuesday at Pack Memorial Library. A second session will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at Skyland/South Buncombe Public Library.

Officials encourage anyone interested in contributing to the celebration to attend and join the conversation.
