ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Have questions about your Buncombe County property tax bill? You can get answers at your local library.

With property owners facing a Jan. 5 deadline to pay their tax bills without interest, Buncombe County’s Tax Collections team is visiting libraries across the county through November to answer questions and explain payment options.

County tax employees can help residents understand their bills, pay online, set up payment arrangements and keep track of important deadlines.

They can also point residents in the right direction for questions about property values, reappraisal and tax relief programs.

The help desks will be available at six libraries, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Black Mountain.

Here’s where and when you can get help:

  • Black Mountain Library: Oct. 13-15, 2-4 p.m., 105 N. Dougherty St., Black Mountain.
  • Fairview Library: Oct. 20-22, 2-4 p.m., 1 Taylor Road, Fairview.
  • Leicester Library: Oct. 27-28, 2-4 p.m., 1561 Alexander Road, Leicester.
  • East Asheville Library: Nov. 3-5, 10 a.m.-noon, 3 Avon Road, Asheville.
  • Enka-Candler Library: Nov. 10 and 12, 10 a.m.-noon, 1404 Sand Hill Road, Candler.
  • Skyland/South Buncombe Library: Nov. 17-19, 10 a.m.-noon, 260 Overlook Road, Asheville.

Residents can stop by during the scheduled hours to speak with a member of the county’s Tax Collections team.

Property taxes were due Sept. 1, but residents have until Jan. 5, 2027, to pay without interest.
