ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a reported armed robber.
According to an Oct. 27 news release from the Asheville Police Department, the suspect reportedly held up a West Asheville business at gunpoint in the late-night hours of Oct. 24.
Officers responded to the 400 block of Haywood Road at 10:06 p.m. on Oct. 24 to investigate a reported armed robbery, according to the incident report. Responding officers arrived on scene, spoke with the victim, and reviewed surveillance video, police said.
The investigation determined that a man entered the store, appeared to be shopping, and brought several items to the counter before brandishing a handgun and demanding money from the cash register.
Detectives describe the suspect as a Black male with a beard, wearing a blue hoodie with a Spider-Man face printed on the front of it, the release said.
