ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Parks & Recreation is inviting families to sign up for its annual “Calls From Santa” event, offering young children a chance to receive a personalized phone call from the North Pole.

The free program is scheduled for 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Stephens-Lee Community Center. It is open to children ages 3 to 6, and advance registration is required at avlREC.com.

City officials say the tradition gives children a memorable holiday moment as Santa checks in with “all good little boys and girls.” For more information, families can call 828-350-2058.

Asheville Parks & Recreation is also promoting a series of holiday events for all ages throughout the season. Space is limited, and city staff encourage early registration, even for free activities.
