22-year-old Hendersonville man arrested on 6 counts of child sex abuse

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Maximiliano Gomez Diaz, 22, was arrested by the Henderson County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in an investigation related to the possession and sharing of child sex abuse material.

Diaz was arrested without incident and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center on Aug. 28, 2026, and charged with three counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor and three counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor.

“This incident is part of an on-going investigation, and no other information will be released at this time,” the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said. “In a court of law all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

HCSO Sheriff Lowell Griffin and HPD Chief Blair Myhand thanked local and state partners for their assistance with the investigation.
