WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Candlelight Stroll, a cherished holiday tradition in Weaverville, will return to Main Street for its 20th anniversary this week. The public is invited out for an evening of caroling, community and Christmas cheer from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12.

What to expect at the Candlelight Stroll

Candlelight Stroll festivities will begin with a tree lighting at 6 p.m. at the Main St. Clock Lot, located between the Prescription Pad of Weaverville and Leveller Brewing Co.

As per tradition, carols and other holiday songs will be performed by the North Buncombe High School and North Windy Ridge choirs throughout the evening.

Guests who park at the Weaverville Community Center, located along nearby Lake Louise, can enjoy a holiday celebration at the Dry Ridge Museum and a shuttle service to Main Street.

Weaverville businesses will transform into a “mini winter wonderland” on Florida Avenue during the event. Families can enjoy photo opportunities, hot chocolate and a cozy community area. Local mobile bookstore Willbloom Books will also be in attendance with their book bus.

Finally, there are a smattering of holiday characters scattered around Main Street. Kids will receive a glow stick for finding each character, and if they find them all, they can come to the Weaverville Business Association tent for a prize.

For more information about holiday offerings from each Weaverville business, visit www.visitweaverville.com/events/the-candlelight-stroll.
