FLAT ROCK, N.C. (828newsNOW) — One person was killed in a late-night shooting at a park in Henderson County, authorities said.

Deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting at Dana Park in Flat Rock at about 11:26 p.m. Monday.

When deputies arrived, they found one victim who later died from their injuries, officials said.

Investigators believe the shooting was not random and said there is no immediate threat to the public.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities said no additional information would be released as the investigation continues.
