UNC Asheville: BAA Golf Tournament finishes up on Tuesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Athletic supporters closed out the annual Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA) Scholarship Golf Classic Tuesday at the Country Club of Asheville. Over the course of the last two days, the event raised nearly $100,000 for scholarships for Bulldog student-athletes.

“I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our donors and sponsors who played in the Bulldog Athletic Association Golf Tournament Monday and Tuesday! Their support allows us to enhance our student-athlete experience at UNC Asheville by providing funding for our athletic scholarship fund,” UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. “Our golf committee does a tremendous job every year with this event. For us to build champions and inspire leaders at UNC Asheville these efforts are crucial.”

The top score on the day was 35-under from the Goforth Construction Team made up of Bruce Goforth, Joyce Goforth, Coty Cheek, and Cort Radford. Not far behind in second with a score of 34-under was the foursome from Vannoy Construction Brian Walker, David Todd, Tanner Winchester, and Jesse Gardner. Rounding out the top three finishers was the quartet of Grant and Chris Moss, Jason, and Leigh Josie from Adapt IP Ventures that went 31-under. All tiebreakers were broken by the USGA rules.

Individually, Blake Bickford logged the longest drive of the day on hole seven, while Drew Dillingham finished closest to the pin on hole 17.
