First-year UNC Asheville women’s golf head coach Ericka Schneider officially announced the addition of Brianna (Bri) Orr, who will start her collegiate career in the fall of 2019.

“We are very excited to be adding Bri to the Bulldog family,” said Schneider. “She has an untapped amount of potential, and I am eager to see the impact her work ethic and upbeat personality makes here at UNC Asheville.”

Orr, who is originally from the Florida Keys, currently resides in Sarasota, Fla. The incoming Bulldog attends the Florida Virtual School, which is known for its rigorous academics. She plays high school golf for Riverview High School, where she was a team captain for all four years. During her senior year, her team was the State Runner-Up at the FHSSA 3A State Championship.

During her junior season, Orr averaged a 79 scoring average at the districts and regionals in the high school playoffs. She carded an impressive 72 round in the final round of the Florida Junior Tour at the Winter Haven Country Club. While competing in the FJT Junior Amateur Championship, Orr inked a 78 score in the opening round en route to making the cut in the competitive tournament.

Orr also earned two GSJGA first-place honors at the Charlotte Harbor National (score of 76) and the Meadows Country Club (score of 78). The Bulldog signee also had two really impressive rounds at the Hurricane Tour at the Disney Junior Open and the Crutchfield Hawkins Invitational at River Greens Country Club. In the Disney Junior open, Orr shot a 73 score, and at the Crutchfield Hawkins Invitational, she posted a 74 outing.

Bri enjoys spending time with her family friends off the course, and she is looking forward to playing collegiate golf at UNC Asheville.
