UNC Asheville Volleyball Hosts Two Matches this Weekend at the Justice Center

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville volleyball has two matches this upcoming weekend at the Justice Center.

The Bulldogs will first host Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 before hosting Presbyterian College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Saturday’s match will serve as UNC Asheville’s annual “Dig Pink” match with the Bulldogs helping to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match.

UNC Asheville’s Cara Guthrie is currently third in the league in kills per set (3.15) and fourth in the league in points per set (3.66). Guthrie is sixth in aces per set (0.37). UNC Asheville’s Julia Loveday is presently ninth in the league in hitting percentage (.264). Cecilia Stack is seventh in the conference in blocks per set (0.85). Madisen Zyburt is third in the league in digs per set (5.02).Zyburt Leading the Way in League Matches
UNC Asheville’s Madisen Zyburt is currently leading the way in league matches with 5.56 digs per set.

The team has a lot left to fight for and so we will go with everything against our opponents this weekend.”

About Charleston Southern
The Buccaneers make their way to the Justice Center with a 9-6 overall record and a 4-3 mark in league play. Charleston Southern has three with over 100 kills in Addison Kaderli (135), Madison Malloch (135) and Hannah Western (108). Madison Martin is approaching 300 kills on the year with 293 currently.

About Presbyterian College
The Blue Hose enter the weekend at 7-12 overall and an even 4-4 in league play. Presbyterian College currently has five with over 100 kills with Erin Cooke leading the way with 194. Daley Gosnell leads the Blue Hose in digs with 276.
