ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s basketball team will return home to Kimmel Arena on Sunday to host Wofford. Tip-off between the Bulldogs and Terriers is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out – Asheville fell for the first time this season last Sunday, dropping a 70-60 decision on the road at Appalachian State. With the loss, the Bulldogs’ record evened at 1-1.

Carter Clicking – Despite the loss, one Bulldog that had a standout performance at Appalachian State was sophomore Kai Carter. She set new career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (8) in the contest. Carter is averaging 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game through two contests while shooting an impressive 66.7 percent from beyond the arc. Among players that have made eight or more three-pointers this season, only three players in the nation have shot a better percentage than Carter.

Home Sweet Home – Asheville is happy to return home to Kimmel Arena as it has built a distinct home-court advantage over the past few years. The Bulldogs have won 65 percent of their games at home since the beginning of the 2016-17 season, including a 70-59 victory over Western Carolina to start the 2020-21 campaign. In comparison, the Bulldogs have won around 38 percent of their road games during the same stretch.

About Wofford – Wofford comes into Sunday’s matchup with the Bulldogs sporting a record of 2-1. The Terriers own victories over Winthrop (65-50) and High Point (53-50) with the lone setback against the College of Charleston (69-61). The Terriers have a balanced offense with six different players averaging at least seven points per game, with Niyah Lutz leading this group averaging nearly 13 points (12.7) so far.

How to Follow – Sunday’s game will stream on ESPN+ and can be watched locally on CW62. Mike Gore will have the radio call on WISE Sports Radio 102.9 FM/1310 AM. Live stats will also be available here.
