ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville track & field teams competed in an intrasquad meet over the last couple of days at the Karl Straus Track facility. The matchup of Bulldogs consisted of several events, with the Blue team coming out on top over the White squad, 352-322.
The Blue team racked up several event victories on the track, which were worth 10 points each. Alex Williams led the way by winning the one-mile run, 60m dash, and was a member of the 4×300 relay team that took the top spot along with Nick Roberts, Bryson Riddick, and Denley Joseph. For Team White, India Appleton (one-mile run), Aaliyah James (60m dash), and the foursome of Mallory Haney Elyse Myles, Khadeesha Crumbly, and James (4x300r) took top spots in their given events.
While Team Blue held the edge on the track, Team White did the same in the field events. The White squad swept the men’s and women’s long jump and triple jump contests and won at least one out of each event except for the discus throw. Mason Bradley (White) was the lone Bulldog to win two events in the field as he took the top spot in the long jump and triple jump.
