ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville cross country programs took to the track Wednesday evening as part of Bulldog Blue & White Showdown. The Blue team won both the women’s race (27 to 28) and men’s race (26 to 29). With the victory, the Blue Bulldogs regain the lead 3-2 heading into the final day.

“We had a great showing tonight in the Blue & White Showdown,” said UNC Asheville Head Cross Country Coach Adam Puett. “Our athletes had a wonderful experience getting to race again and show all of the hard work that they have been putting in over the last eight weeks.  As a program, this race really showed how much better we have gotten since the beginning of the school year. We had numerous athletes on our team get all-time personal bests and most of our athletes ran faster than they did in the same distance just seven weeks ago. I am looking forward to seeing our team get to race again in the future.”

The 2025 season has produced a surprising show of parity through the first five months of the regular season. While most of the league's big spenders — teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and New York Mets — are in good position to make the playoffs and do damage in October, they haven't been as dominant as many expected.
