ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men’s and women’s tennis teams held their competition as a part of the Bulldog Blue & White Showdown Tuesday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club. The Blue team won handily winning nine of the 12 matches and in doing so, put the Blue Bulldogs up 2-1 after three events and four to go.

“I’ll be sure to get rid of the white outfits when we get to the regular season,” said UNC Asheville Head Women’s Tennis Coach Lise Gregory.

“The Blue team came out on top on the scoreboard, but it was a great day for everyone,” said UNC Asheville Head Men’s Tennis Coach Tom Hand. “It was a fun way to add some extra spice to our schedule this fall given that we don’t have any outside competition.”

Action in the Bulldog Blue & White Showdown will begin to pick up Wednesday as the women’s soccer and cross country teams will compete. The women’s soccer team will start things off at 6 p.m. with the cross country squads to follow at 8 p.m.
