The official welcome back for UNC Asheville student-athletes for the spring of 2019 was all about helping the Bulldogs “breakthrough.”

The special welcome back celebration officially titled “Bulldog Breakthrough” featured nationally-renowned motivational speaker Brian Biro.

“America’s Breakthrough Coach” talked with the current UNC Asheville student-athletes about both literally and metaphorically breaking through all challenges.

UNC Asheville student-athletes even had the really unique opportunity to break through real boards as part of Biro’s world-class presentation.

The entire event was planned by UNC Asheville Senior Associate Athletics Director Terri Brneand Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Success Rebecca Nelms.

“Every semester we are looking for new and innovative ways to welcome back our student-athletes, and I truly believe this is one of our best yet,” UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. “The message by Brian Biro was truly inspiring for our student-athletes and the energy shown here today by all involved will help us in everything that we do this semester and beyond in our efforts to continue to develop ‘Champions in Athletics & Leaders in Life’ that win in the classroom, community and in competition.”
