To open the 2018-19 indoor season, the UNC Asheville men’s and women’s track and field teams travel to Boone to compete in the two-day Appalachian State Open inside the Holmes Convocation Center.
BULLDOG BITES
About the Bulldogs
After very strong indoor and outdoor seasons last year, the Bulldogs return a plethora of student-athletes that will continue to make an impact this season.
Six seniors – Matthew Barrera, Zach Boone, Blanton Gillespie, Megan Brewer, Kelley Coleman and Kelley Petroski – will be the leaders for UNC Asheville, as they will compete in their final year in a Bulldog uniform.
Also adding several years of experience to the track and field squads are several juniors – Thomas Little, Tyree McFalling, Graham Parker, Sage Turner, Desire Brown and Jasmine Cox.
To counter the experienced athletes, head coach Jesse Norman signed one of his biggest freshmen classes in program history (31 athletes).
