The Race to the Taps South Slope 4-miler on Saturday, August 8th featuring Catawba Brewing and Twin Leaf Brewery is the most unique Race to the Taps run yet!
This evening 4-miler is no pub crawl and will start and end in the heart of Downtown Asheville on Banks Avenue. The course will highlight areas of the River Arts District as well as the South Slope brewery district near the new Catawba Brewing Company tasting room and Twin Leaf Brewery.
Online registration is only $38 through August 7th at 8am. You can also register for $40 in person at packet pick-up on Friday, 8/7 from 3-7pm at Paramount Kia behind the Asheville Outlet Mall or on race day 8/8 from 4-5:30pm on Banks Avenue. All runners will receive a Race to the Taps can koozie as well as a beer pour after the race (must be at least 21 years old). Additional beer will be available for purchase.
Runners and spectators will be treated to a downtown street party with tunes from DJ Kipper, Human Foosball from Kick It Events, Belly Up food truck and complimentary brewery tours of Twin Leaf Brewery and Catawba Brewing at 2pm, 2:30pm and 3pm.
Following the race, special release keg tappings will take place at Catawba Brewing at 7pm featuring King Don’s Pumpkin Ale (also tapped at the Morganton and Biltmore Village tasting rooms) and at 8pm at Twin Leaf Brewery. PLUS – Ron Gallo and the Lawsuits will be playing from 6-9pm on the outdoor Courtyard at Catawba Brewing.

In keeping with the theme of the series, craft beer centric prizes will be awarded for the top three male and female overall finishers in each age category as well as custom prizes for the top three male and female in Masters and Grandmasters Divisions.
In addition to the timed awards, we will also award a “King & Queen of the Taps” South Slope for the “most spirit” based on attire and enthusiasm and the M.O.P (Middle of the Pack) award for the runner with the middle time of all runners. Each race will also feature 2 Pop-Up Sprints with winners and awards for each. No need to be speedy, you just need to be in it to win it.
